The primary objective of EMSA is to foster an alliance across the broad range of technology providers to address all areas of an enterprise's complete messaging security architecture. Through this teaming effort, the alliance adds a new level of flexibility and interoperability across the leading security solutions within an enterprises messaging ecosystem.
"E-mail and IM security and compliance are growing exponentially in complexity and enterprises need integrated solutions to solve these heterogeneous problems," said Matt Cain, Senior Vice President of Meta Group. "As customers rush to bring messaging security under control, they will look for solutions that integrate policy enforcement, anti-virus, anti-spam, and content compliance for both e-mail and IM."
EMSA partners represent the four facets that compose the full spectrum of messaging applications within an enterprise's landscape including:
- Security enforcement: The technologies control access to systems and safeguard access to data. This includes firewalls; authentication and authorization; secure delivery; and intrusion prevention. EMSA partners in this category include Post X, RSA Security and Voltage Security.
