Leading Iowa Bank Relies On Voltage Security For Policy-Driven Privacy for Email and Attachments, Inside and Outside of Bank

Hills Bank and Trust Uses Voltage SecureMailT and Voltage IBE Gateway ServerT to enable compliance with federal GLBA regulations

Palo Alto, CA-December 15, 2004--- Voltage Security, Inc., a global leader in enterprise privacy, today announced that Hills Bank and Trust Company, a leading Iowa bank headquartered in Hills, Iowa, has selected Voltage to provide privacy for email and attachments being sent employee-to-employee, employee-to-business partners outside of the bank, and employee-to-consumers. Hills Bank will use the Voltage IBE Gateway Server to provide policy-driven encryption for all emails and attachments being sent to/from the 12 branches of the bank. By using the Voltage IBE Gateway Server, emails are automatically encrypted and decrypted based on pre-set policies determined by the bank. This approach greatly simplifies the management and administration of secure communication both inside the bank and beyond the bank firewall to business partners and customers.

Hills Bank is using Voltage SecureMail and Voltage IBE Gateway Server to ensure that sensitive information is securely transmitted to outside and inside email recipients. For instance, with the Voltage IBE Gateway, if an email includes an attachment, the whole transmission is automatically encrypted. This way the bank employee does not need to remember to click a special button to encrypt attachments, it is done automatically. This approach simplifies both the end-user experience and the administration of the security system and also ensures that private account information is protected.
