Voltage Security Announces Secure Email Solution for Siemens mobile office@vantage

New Solution Integrates Identity-Based Encryption into Microsoft Windows Mobile Smartphones Ensuring Privacy of Mobile Messaging for the Enterprise

Cannes, FR – 3GSM World Congress — February 14, 2005--- Voltage Security, Inc., a global leader in enterprise privacy management, unveiled today the award-winning Voltage SecureMail™ solution fully integrated with Siemens mobile office@vantage™ running on Microsoft Windows Mobile for PocketPC smartphones. The end-to-end secure mobile messaging solution with policy-based encryption for enterprise customers and Mobile Networks Operators ensures message security without requiring certificates to be created, managed or stored in the mobile device or anywhere in the system.

Siemens mobile office@vantage is an email push and PIM synchronization solution providing an unprecedented level of security by using Voltage SecureMail for end-to-end security. The solution features the breakthrough Identity-Based Encryption (IBE) technology, specifically designed for the Siemens mobile office@vantage solution running on any Microsoft Windows Mobile™ powered device.

IBE is a public key cryptography system that uses common identities (such as an email address) as public keys, eliminating the need for certificates, Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL) and other costly infrastructure. IBE results in a solution that is easy to implement and easy to manage, without the overhead and cost inherent in traditional security solutions.

Siemens mobile office@vantage uses the Voltage IBE Gateway Server™ to provide policy-driven encryption services from the edge of the corporate network. Integration between the Siemens Mobile Access Point Server™ (MAP) and the Voltage IBE Gateway Server provides comprehensive policy-based message security (including encryption, decryption and anti-virus and anti-spam scanning) at the gateway and in many cases means that a virtual private network, or VPN, is no longer necessary. This approach significantly reduces costs for enterprise customers and increases manageability of message privacy.
