R-G Crown Bank of Central Florida Selects Voltage Security and Proofpoint to Provide Comprehensive Secure Email

Palo Alto and Cupertino, CA—July 26, 2005---Voltage Security, Inc., a global leader in enterprise privacy management for digital business communication, and Proofpoint, Inc., the leader in large enterprise messaging security solutions, today announced that  R-G Crown Bank (www.rgcrownbank.com) , a 33-branch regional Florida bank, has selected Voltage, and its breakthrough technology, Identity-Based Encryption (IBE), combined with Proofpoint’s messaging security appliance, for secure messaging. R-G Crown is using Voltage teamed with the Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway™ to provide complete protection from both inbound and outbound message-borne threats. The joint solution from Voltage and Proofpoint offers R-G Crown Bank unrivalled protection from spam and viruses, inbound and outbound content scanning and policy-based encryption services.

R-G Crown began looking for a comprehensive, policy-driven secure messaging solution after realizing their desktop solutions were not providing effective spam filtering. The primary criteria selection was the integration of policy-driven routing and compliance functionality with ease-of-use. The Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway sits at the edge of the bank’s network and provides content scanning on all email messages entering and exiting the bank. It uses patent-pending Proofpoint MLX™ machine learning technology to identify spam, viruses, and content related to privacy standards expressed in federal regulations such as GLBA and Sarbanes-Oxley. When the Proofpoint appliance recognizes a message that contains confidential account or bank information, such as social security number, customer name and/or address, PIN number, etc., the message is automatically routed to Voltage for encryption. The receiver of the message uses the Voltage Zero Download Messenger™ to simply click and read the encrypted message in a browser.
