Voltage Security Platform Products Awarded
Common Criteria EAL 2 Certification

Voltage SecureMail Gains Industry Leadership in Government and Commercial Sectors

Palo Alto, California—June 27, 2007—Voltage Security Inc. (www.voltage.com), a global leader in enterprise data protection, today announced it has been awarded Common Criteria (CC) Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 2 for the complete Voltage SecureMail suite. Comprehensive certification covers the Voltage SecureMail Gateway, Voltage Key Management Server, Voltage Zero Download Messenger, and the Voltage SecureMail Client. This in-depth testing provides official recognition of premier quality, secure and sound processes, robust auditing and logging, and security assurance for all development, quality assurance (QA) and delivery processes. The Voltage SecureMail suite has been deployed by many of the largest organizations in the world— organizations that require the highest level of protection for their confidential or sensitive information.

“The achievement of this internationally-recognized standard clearly highlights Voltage’s ability to deliver innovation combined with the highest levels of robustness to both Government and commercial sectors” said Wasim Ahmad, vice president of marketing, Voltage Security. “With Fortune 500 companies looking to the Common Criteria standard to help identify the most secure and scalable solutions, Voltage SecureMail is well positioned to provide the best email encryption solution to serve their business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) communication needs.”

"We conducted comprehensive security testing on the Voltage SecureMail suite and found it meets the EAL 2 Common Criteria requirements," explained Stephen Wilson, Common Criteria Business Manager, InfoGard Laboratories: "Common Criteria certification represents a tremendous achievement on behalf of Voltage Security. Their commitment to providing enterprise security products that have undergone rigorous security assurance analysis adds significant value to customers who can focus on the benefits of Voltage Security inside their unique environments instead of basic security testing.”

About Common Criteria

Common Criteria is an internationally recognized standard ( ISO 15408) adopted by 24 countries. The international Common Criteria standard was developed to unify and supersede national IT security certification schemes from several different countries, including the U.S., Canada, Germany, the U.K., France and the Netherlands. Certification testing was conducted by InfoGard Laboratories, Inc., and validated by the NIAP -- a joint partnership between the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA).

Testing was conducted by InfoGard Laboratories of San Luis Obispo, CA. InfoGard, accredited by the National Voluntary Accreditation Program (NVLAP) of NIST under Lab Code 100432-0 and approved by the Common Criteria Evaluation Validation Scheme (CCEVS), is the independent security testing lab evaluating the Voltage SecureMail suite. InfoGard adheres to strict standards, considers numerous real-world deployment scenarios, and conducts comprehensive component testing and systematic analysis to determine if the IT component meets the security standards.
