State of the Union: State Encryption Laws and
Your Business Nationwide

Is there any unity in state data security laws? There is a growing trend among states to enact encryption specific laws. With nearly every state already enforcing laws covering data privacy and data breach notification these new encryption laws add to the maze of regulation that businesses need to navigate. This webcast will review all the recent state laws that have gone into effect including laws enacted in Massachusetts, Washington, Minnesota and Nevada.

Joining us in the webcast will be Stephen Wu, Partner - Cooke Kobrick & Wu LLP sharing his domain expertise on the most recent state laws and how each law either requires or encourages encryption. Next, David Berman, Director, Product Marketing, Voltage Security, will cover the benefits of a comprehensive data protection platform that supports compliance with state data breach and data encryption laws and how the Voltage Security solution can address the requirements of the many state laws and prepare organizations for meeting any future data encryption laws from state government. Then, Roseann Larson, Treasurer – WEALTH will join a panel to answer questions on compliance drawing on her leadership and experience in executive IT risk management and compliance roles for Estee Lauder, Citicorp and Ernst & Young.

You will also learn:

Why an increasing number of state laws explicitly mandate the use of encryption for personal and private information

How to address important requirements including key management, encrypting structured and unstructured data and preventing 'air gaps' in your data protection deployments that could increase the risk of a data breach

What you need to do to prepare your organization including review of service provider relationships
