| Walt Conway is a Payment Card Industry Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) with 403 Labs, applying his 30-years of electronic payments and technology management experience to helping clients plan, implement, and manage their credit card and e-commerce programs including achieving PCI compliance. Walt spent over 10 years with Visa, and two years as president of an Internet-based payment processor. In addition to his QSA duties, Walt writes a weekly PCI column for StorefrontBacktalk.com, focusing on compliance issues facing merchants. He also conducts PCI training workshops and is a frequent speaker on PCI DSS, security, and ecommerce topics at professional conferences and webinars. He has written or co-authored a number of articles including 5 Strategies to Achieve PCI Compliance, Straight Talk about Data Security, and Back to School: What Colleges and Universities Can Teach About PCI Compliance. Walt and his wife live in San Francisco. |

He started his career at Apple Computer where he focused on software development tools for the Macintosh as a Software Evangelist. After leaving Apple, David focused on software security including Director-level roles at enCommerce, Entrust and VeriSign. While at VeriSign David was instrumental in launching the Initiative for Open Authentication (OATH), which resulted in a viable open standard in the strong authentication market. Most recently, David led product marketing efforts at ActivIdentity focusing on Financial Services, Payments and Social Networking segments. |
