HPE SST on HPE NonStop servers allow fully native tokenization, so a single operation can now be used to both decrypt and tokenize incoming Primary Account Number (PAN) data.
With data-centric security, protection is applied at the data field level, such as the credit card number, the track data, or personal data in applications such as loyalty systems. With data-centric encryption, the field is protected the instant the data is captured-for example, as a credit card is swiped in the card reader and before it hits the POS. By preserving format, the POS and business applications can still use the data in its protected form without decryption.
