Sometimes things that are obvious turn out to be true
Some of the papers about the psychology of information security that I recently read had interesting insights into how the way we think affects the information security business. Some didn't. In particular, here's what one of them had to say:
Studies conducted on technical professionals have shown prevalence of specific [personality] types in some job categories. This suggests that different career fields may be dominated by particular personality types, and that there is a relationship between the type of work and the personality type.
Ah, I thought to myself as I read that, research has shown that to be true.
It might have been interesting to see what jobs have been shown to attract certain personality types, but I didn't think it was interesting enough to actually track down the additional references that discuss this.
